Job summary

The Allen Institute seeks a Sr. Software Engineer – AI BioDesign to lead ML training/evaluation pipelines and data infrastructure for multi-modal biology projects. You will collaborate with AI scientists, manage a model zoo, and help shape the training stack across flywheels.

Onsite in Seattle, WA, with visa sponsorship and relocation support. You will work with a passionate team dedicated to open science, bias reduction, and inclusive collaboration, contributing to cutting-edge AI/biology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience running/evaluating ML models and building data access APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD such as GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ML training and evaluation pipelines across multiple biological modalities.
• Design data storage, versioning, and access infrastructure for large-scale, in-house data.
• Develop and maintain a model zoo of relevant models.
• Collaborate with leadership on training and data tech stack buy/build decisions.
• Create processes to support a lab-in-the-loop training paradigm.
