Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead site automation initiatives in a GMP manufacturing environment. You will drive design, implementation, integration, qualification, and maintenance of automation systems supporting manufacturing, packaging, and production operations.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and system integrators to ensure compliant, robust solutions with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in automation within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, Chemical, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Hands-on experience supporting Allen-Bradley PLC systems, including programming and troubleshooting.
Proven experience in GMP-regulated operations (pharma, biotech, medical devices, etc.).
Experience with SCADA/DCS for process monitoring and control.
Knowledge of ISA-88 and ISA-95 standards.

Responsibilities

Lead and support automation projects from concept through design, implementation, testing, startup, and handoff to operations.
Coordinate with vendors, system integrators, and site stakeholders to deliver milestones.
Review and maintain URS, FS, Configuration Specifications, and related records.
Support integration between equipment, process control, and business systems.
Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and validation activities.
