Job summary

Horizon Controls Group is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer with 5+ years of experience to lead and execute complex automation projects across multiple control platforms, including PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems.

You will act as a technical lead for system architecture, implementation, commissioning, validation, and lifecycle support, while guiding integration with MES or historian data and ISA-88 batch processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial or pharma automation.
• GMP/GxP compliance experience.
• FAT/SAT, commissioning, and validation support experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation system design and architecture decisions.
• Develop and review PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA code.
• Provide technical leadership during commissioning, startup, and qualification.
• Troubleshoot complex automation and integration issues.
• Support lifecycle management, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in industrial or pharma automation
• Strong hands‑on experience with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, etc.)
• Deep understanding of GMP/GxP compliance and regulated systems
• Experience with FAT/SAT, commissioning, and validation support

Preferred Skills:

• MES or historian integration experience
• Batch control and ISA‑88 standards
• Experience working with system integrators and EPC firms
