Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supporting automation, manufacturing, or industrial control systems.
• Experience in GMP or other regulated environments is highly preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder logic, P&IDs, and related drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, commission, and support GMP computerized and automation systems.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for manufacturing, laboratory, and automation systems.
• Support system validation activities, testing, change controls, SOPs, and technical documentation.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI, and SCADA platforms.
• Support local infrastructure, databases, networking, and system integrations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Validation, and IT teams.
• Participate in project execution, vendor coordination, and rotational after-hours support.

Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer (IT/OT Systems)

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Pay: $100,000 - $120,000/annually *Dependent on experience*

Initial training schedule is 7:00 AM, with a transition to a 9:00 AM schedule after training.

We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to support and enhance laboratory and manufacturing systems in a regulated GMP environment. This role serves as a key technical resource for Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Validation, and IT teams, ensuring reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of automation and computerized systems across the site.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PLC and SCADA systems, a background in regulated industries, and a solid understanding of industrial safety standards.

Requirements:

• PLC programming and troubleshooting
• Experience in a regulated environment (GMP/pharmaceutical preferred)
• Industrial safety experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience supporting automation, manufacturing, or industrial control systems.
• Experience within a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, food & beverage, or other GMP-regulated industries.
• SCADA/HMI systems
• GMP, cGMP, and GAMP principles
• Industrial networking and IT infrastructure
• Software lifecycle, validation, and change management processes
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, P&IDs, and technical drawings.

Highly Preferred:

• Wonderware, Rockwell Automation, or Intellution SCADA platforms
• Networking, Active Directory, backup/recovery, and cybersecurity fundamentals
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project leadership skills
