Job summary

Novartis Group of Companies in Durham, NC is seeking an Automation Engineer III focused on compounding, CIP, SIP and utility distribution to help ensure compliant, reliable pharmaceutical manufacturing.

You will troubleshoot, implement improvements, support validation, and collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality across the site. This onsite role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years GMP experience with DeltaV, OSI PI, PLC/SCADA.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Minimum 5 years GMP manufacturing experience or 9 years equivalent.
Hands-on experience with DCS platforms, preferably DeltaV.

Responsibilities

Maintain and optimize compounding, CIP/SIP, and utility automation systems.
Design, configure, install, and lifecycle-manage automation hardware and software.
Develop control strategies for compounding, CIP, SIP, and utility systems.
Lead automation activities for capital projects and system upgrades.
Create URS, FS, DDS, HDS, and SDS documentation.
Execute change controls and validation activities.
Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality to resolve issues.
Provide on-call support for GMP manufacturing operations.
Drive continuous improvements for reliability and compliance.
Maintain SOPs, procedures, and system records per FDA/GMP.
