Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior automation engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks across testing, workflows, and business processes.

You will lead automation efforts across the full SDLC, mentor engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Applicants should have a BS in CS or related field and 5+ years in automation, with strong skills in C#, JavaScript, or Java and experience with CI/CD and APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software development/automation experience.
• 3+ years in complex systems or large-scale architectures.
• Proficiency across the software development lifecycle and modern engineering practices.
• Strong development skills in one or more languages like C#, JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience building automation frameworks for UI, APIs, and processes.
• Solid understanding of web tech, APIs, scripting, CI/CD, DevOps, and version control.
• Experience solving complex technical issues and optimizing systems.
• Experience with automation for testing, workflows, or operations preferred.
• Familiarity with automation platforms or RPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks across testing, workflows, and business processes.
• Serve as a technical SME for automation solutions supporting critical applications.
• Lead automation development across the full SDLC, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and optimization.
• Build automation for UI, API, integration, regression, data validation, and business processes.
• Evaluate and implement modern automation tools and technologies to improve efficiency.
• Contribute to automation strategy, standards, and roadmaps.
• Partner with stakeholders, QA, developers, and operations to identify automation opportunities.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across applications and platforms.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to foster ownership and continuous improvement.
