Job summary

Abbott Nutrition division is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer for Tipp City, Ohio. This role focuses on maintaining and improving plant equipment and systems to ensure safety, quality, and productivity in a 24-hour manufacturing environment.

You will work with cross-functional teams of engineers, plan projects, and implement new manufacturing methods while complying with FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies. Strong automation knowledge and project management are essential.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in industrial automation, electrical, systems, or equivalent.
7 years’ experience in food or beverage process systems automation engineering, new machine programming, and/or line integration execution.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal required.
Working knowledge of automation in food/beverage process systems.
Regulatory experience with SQF, ODA, FDA, or other regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

Improve and maintain plant equipment, systems and fixed assets to high safety, quality and productivity standards.
Provide automation engineering support for a 24-hour production facility.
Collaborate with mechanical, chemical, process, and other engineers.
Plan and manage project tasks, deadlines, and scope with internal customers.
Apply new technology and control updates where feasible.
Support new product introductions, process/start-up, and vendor qualifications.
