Job summary
AstraZeneca in Rockville, MD seeks a Senior Automation Engineer – Cell Therapy to lead the automation and OT strategy for the site’s first-of-its-kind robotic manufacturing cluster. You will be the technical authority collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, IT, Engineering, and external suppliers to deliver scalable, GMP-compliant automation capabilities.
You will design, implement, and sustain automation platforms, drive lifecycle decisions, and leverage AI and data to improve reliability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Five or more years of experience implementing and sustaining process automation or OT systems in manufacturing or similar complex environments.
- Hands-on experience integrating robotic systems with third-party manufacturing equipment; AI in process execution or real-time control is valued.
Responsibilities
- Lead Automation and OT strategy for the site’s robotic manufacturing cluster.
- Own and administer critical automation platforms including Environmental and Equipment Monitoring Systems and Process Orchestration Layer.
- Solve automation, OT, and robotics challenges; maintain GMP-validated state.
