Job summary

Phillips 66 is seeking an Advanced Process Control and Automation Sr Engineer to lead APC applications across multiple gas processing facilities in Houston, TX. You will develop and promote best-practice control strategies, train site operators, and collaborate with process engineering and operations teams to optimize performance.

The role requires 7+ years in automation or process control within oil and gas, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and experience with APC software and DCS/PLC platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of automation, process control, or related experience in oil and gas operations.
• Experience with APC and process control software interfaces.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prioritize, develop and execute APC applications across gas processing facilities.
• Maintain APC application operations and troubleshoot interfaces with base controls.
• Provide consulting and training to operations and engineering teams.
• Develop best practice standards for APC and optimization.
• Translate needs into roadmaps and prioritized projects.
• Design, test, and optimize control strategies on DCS/PLC platforms.
• Support vendor updates, progress reporting, and metrics.
• Collaborate across teams while managing quality, safety, and schedule.
