PetSmart Store Support Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Automation Developer in Phoenix to independently design, develop, and support scalable automation solutions across enterprise processes from requirements through deployment.

The role requires leading complex workflows using UiPath and Alteryx, with SQL and Python for data handling, and collaborating with Finance and IT partners to deliver reliable, measurable improvements in a hybrid work setting in the Phoenix area.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of automation design, development and implementation experience.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to work with team members and stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, develop, test, and deploy complex automation solutions.

• Support production deployments, monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, devise solutions, and document results.
• Lead collaboration with business partners and mentor junior developers.

From sales and margin to operations and expenses, our Finance team provides consistent, accurate information to cross-functional partners to support PetSmart's growth initiatives.

The Senior Automation Developer is responsible for independently designing, developing, and supporting scalable automation solutions that optimize and streamline enterprise business processes. This role serves as a senior technical contributor within the automation team, leading complex workflow initiatives end-to-end from requirements and design through deployment and operational support.

Core Responsibilities

Automation Development

• Work with the automation team and key stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, gather requirements, and design optimal solutions
• Independently lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex automation solutions with minimal oversight
• Build and maintain reliable workflows leveraging software including UiPath, Alteryx, Databricks, Snowflake, and related intelligent automation capabilities
• Support production deployments, monitoring, and root-cause analysis to ensure workflow stability and operational reliability

Maintenance & Support

• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
• Conduct workflow testing (positive/negative scenarios) and document results
• Create process documentation, workflow diagrams, and technical specifications
• Develop enhancement requests for existing automations

Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with business partners to deliver automation solutions in a reasonable timeframe
• Lead workflow design discussions with business partners
• Communicate progress and risks clearly to automation team and business partners
• Support junior developers in their design and development efforts through technical guidance and reviews of workflows & technical designs

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in automation tools such as UiPath, Alteryx, or similar tools
• Working knowledge of SQL and Python preferred
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and API integrations
• Strong understanding of enterprise data structures, process design, and scalable data processing concepts

Qualifications & Education

• 4+ years of automation design, development and implementation experience
• Effective communication skills (oral and written) and be able to work well with team members, stakeholders, etc.
