Parker Hannifin is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer - Automation Machine Systems to analyze, research, and design components or systems to improve automation, reduce cost, and enhance manufacturing operations.

The role covers mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic disciplines with advanced engineering methods. The candidate will develop complex designs, perform trade studies, create detailed documentation, and present results to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Typically six or more years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops conceptual and detailed designs by analyzing product specifications and performance requirements.
• Performs complex design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of mechanical or electromechanical components and systems using engineering principles.
• Assesses feasibility of new equipment or modifications, considering technical/economic factors and resources.
• Conducts analyses and tests, preparing detailed reports and change proposals for internal/external customers.
• Develops layouts, drawings, and schematics with CAD tools, ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Reviews drawings to ensure clarity, completeness, and conformance, directing revisions as needed.
• Communicates with customers to identify opportunities and clarify requirements; may write technical proposals.
• Travels to Parker sites or vendors, primarily in North America.
