Job summary

Bal Seal Engineering in Colorado Springs is seeking an Automation Design Engineer II to design, develop, sustain, and improve automated manufacturing and inspection equipment. You will independently create automation solutions, upgrade tooling, and produce technical documentation while supporting operations on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years in a similar environment.
• Experience with laser cutting/welding and Lean/CI initiatives.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and manufacturing process knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and sustain automated manufacturing and inspection equipment.
• Lead tool design to expand machine capabilities and reduce downtime.
• Create and maintain process and equipment documentation (SOPs, drawings, schematics).
• Mentor less experienced engineers and technicians and support cross-functional teams.
