Job summary

Bal Seal Engineering is seeking a QC Inspector 2 in Colorado Springs. The role includes inspecting manufactured products, measuring dimensions with hand-held gauges, and performing visual checks according to inspection plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections for assigned areas using manual gauges.
• Measure product dimensions and perform visual inspections.
• Use visual inspection systems (e.g. Smartscope) to verify quality.
• Follow part-specific inspection plans and interpret PO requirements.
• Maintain QA records with proper documentation.

Job Summary:

Bal Seal is hiring for a QC Inspector 2; this position exists to perform various inspections on manufactured products requiring some technical skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performing inspections as required for the assigned area(s)
• Measuring product dimensions using hand-held gauges
• Performing visual inspection to evaluate qualitative characteristics
• Measuring product dimensions using visual inspection systems (e.g Smartscope)
• Following part-specific inspection plans
• Interpreting Bal Seal purchase orders
• Managing workflow and resources as required for the assigned area(s)
• Interpreting and adhering to internal procedures, part drawings, and other design/process control documents
• Creating and auditing quality records with good documentation practice
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years in a quality inspection role
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Retrieving required forms and documents from document control system
• Ability to use manual gauges (e.g. micrometer, calipers, dial indicator, scale)
• Experience with visual inspection systems (e.g. Smartscopes)
• Ability to comprehend written instructions with industry-specific terms and technical concepts
• Ability to document inspection results
• Ability to communicate affectively (ability to speak Spanish a plus but not required)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to look through a microscope for extended periods of time
• Frequent lifting and/or moving items up to 25 lbs
• Must be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouse
• Dexterity in fine motor skills to manipulate small and delicate objects
• Must be able to pass the following vision tests (with or without correction): Snellen (20/25), Jaeger No. 2, Ishihara
