Job summary

Arclin USA LLC in Winnfield, LA is seeking an Automation Technician III to provide instrumentation, automation, electrical and mechanical expertise for manufacturing operations. The role involves maintaining automation systems, upgrading PLCs, installing drives, and calibrating process instruments across resin/formaldehyde and related processes.

The position requires extended experience with industrial electrical systems, RSLogix/ControlLogix, HMI/SCADA, and a strong emphasis on safety,

Qualifications

Associate’s/Bachelor’s preferred, but consideration will be awarded to non-degreed candidates with practical experience.
CCST, Red Seal, ICET certification is a plus; successful completion of Arc Flash will be required once in the position if not already attained.
7+ years exposure to industrial electrical systems such as switch gear and/or motor control systems
AB RS Logix 5000, Control Logix, Powerflex drive, HMI/SCADA experience is a plus.
Experience installing, calibrating, configuring & troubleshooting process instrumentation such as pressure, temperature and flow from Rosemount, Micromotion, and/or Endress & Howser is a plus
Knowledge of PCs, LANs, computer hardware and software installation and support.
Understanding of DC and AC drive systems.
Knowledge of quality control/ISO 9000 management systems.
Sound knowledge of electrical systems, switching, and Arc Flash.
Technical problem solving abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant staff and corporate engineering functions.
Ability to handle Field work, such as wiring, component installation, instrumentation calibrations; Working in confined spaces to install/repair equipment; some lifting (computers, valves, instruments)

Responsibilities

Provide instrumentation, automation, electrical and mechanical expertise to the manufacturing operation.
Maintain a knowledge base of automation systems and computer hardware/software packages for implementation of automation in manufacturing processes.
Advise Plant Engineer and supervisors on instrumentation PLC upgrades and coordinate scheduling.
Install, program and maintain Variable Frequency Drives, PLCs and all plant instrumentation and controls.
Align automation control systems with quality control systems to ensure data continuity.
Coordinate and perform calibrations for all instruments and maintain records.
Complete work assigned by Plant Engineer or designee.
Participate in MOCs, HAZOPS and functional description reviews.
Maintain an automation knowledge base in batch and continuous processes.
Generate and maintain documentation such as ladder logic and wiring diagrams
