Job summary

Arclin, Inc. is seeking an Automation Technician III for our Winnfield, LA facility. This role provides instrumentation, automation, electrical and mechanical expertise to the manufacturing operation and supports automation system maintenance and development across processes.

The position requires hands-on field work, calibration of process instrumentation, and collaboration with Plant Engineer and maintenance teams to optimize productivity and safety.

Qualifications

• 7+ years exposure to industrial electrical systems such as switch gear and/or motor control systems.
• AB RS Logix 5000, Control Logix, Powerflex drive, HMI/SCADA experience is a plus.
• Experience installing, calibrating, configuring & troubleshooting process instrumentation such as pressure, temperature and flow from Rosemount, Micromotion, and/or Endress & Howser is a plus
• Knowledge of PCs, LANs, computer hardware and software installation and support.
• Understanding of DC and AC drive systems.
• Knowledge of quality control/ISO 9000 management systems.
• Sound knowledge of electrical systems, switching, and Arc Flash.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant staff and corporate engineering functions.
• Ability to handle Field work, such as wiring, component installation, instrumentation calibrations; Working in confined spaces to install/repair equipment; some lifting

Responsibilities

• Provide instrumentation, automation, electrical and mechanical expertise to the manufacturing operation.
• Maintain a knowledge base of automation systems and computer hardware/software for the implementation of automation in manufacturing processes.
• Provide assistance to the manufacturing site in the maintenance and development of general instrumentation and automated control systems for resin/formaldehyde, paper treating and other processes to enhance productivity.

Arclin, Inc. is currently seeking an Automation Technician III Job for our Winnfield, LA facility. This position is responsible for providing instrumentation, automation, electrical and mechanical expertise to the manufacturing operation. This position is also required to maintain a knowledge base of automation systems and computer hardware/software packages for the implementation of automation in manufacturing processes and to provide assistance to the manufacturing site in the maintenance and development of general instrumentation and automated control systems for resin/formaldehyde, paper treating and other processes in an effort to enhance overall productivity.

Automation Technician III Job Requirements

• Advises Plant Engineer, Production Department supervisors, Plant Maintenance Team, and Corporate Automation Engineering of necessary instrumentation PLC upgrades, modifications and work cooperatively to schedule these activities.
• Install, program and maintain, Variable Frequency Drives, PLCs and all plant instrumentation and controls.
• Align plant site automation control systems with the Arclin quality control systems and software to ensure continuity of data
• Coordinates and performs calibrations for all the instruments as per the documented schedules and maintains the records in a professional manner
• Completes work assigned by the Plant Engineer or designee.
• Participates in MOCs, HAZOPS and functional description reviews.
• Maintains an automation control system knowledge base in both batch and continuous processes.
• Generates and maintains documentation associated with control systems such as ladder logic and wiring diagrams

Automation Technician III Job Qualifications

• Associate’s/Bachelor’s preferred, but consideration will be awarded to non-degreed candidates with practical experience
• CCST, Red Seal, ICET certification is a plus; successful completion of Arc Flash will be required once in the position if not already attained.
