Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Senior Engineer, Controls to join its MT&E Automation Controls Systems Engineering group. This full-time onsite role in Corning, NY offers travel opportunities and relocation support, with flexibility to support project objectives.

You will design, build, install, and commission PLC-based automation for new equipment and factory expansions nationwide. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical/controls engineering, PLC/HMI work, and multi-location

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in industrial controls or automation.
Experience with PLC programming on Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Omron.
Experience with control systems design, HMI development, and closed-loop control.
Knowledge of electrical schematics and industrial networking.
Willingness to travel domestically to support project activity.

Responsibilities

Support controls engineering projects through design, build, install, startup and commissioning.
Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs for manufacturing equipment.
Develop control architectures and specifications based on process needs.
Collaborate with plant teams, system integrators, and vendors to deliver automation.
Review electrical schematics, panel layouts, and controls documentation.
Assist with offline testing, equipment integration, and production start-up.
Troubleshoot controls and automation issues related to programming and system performance.
