Job summary

Bolder Industries is seeking a Lead Automation and Controls Engineer to provide enterprise-level leadership for instrumentation, process control, and automation across multiple chemical sites. You will establish corporate standards, manage high-impact capital projects, and ensure safe, reliable operation of control systems for hazardous processes.

The role requires extensive DCS/SCADA experience, ISA standards familiarity, and collaboration with operations, maintenance, and process engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8–12+ years of progressive automation and controls engineering experience within chemical manufacturing or petrochemical facilities.
• Extensive hands-on experience with DCS platforms (Rockwell PlantPAx, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa, Siemens PCS 7).
• Strong working knowledge of chemical unit operations, continuous and batch processing, and process control strategies.
• Experience supporting OSHA PSM, PHAs, and SIL determination activities.
• Proven ability to lead projects and interface with operations, maintenance, and process engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, specification, and lifecycle management of instrumentation and control systems for chemical processing units and utilities.
• Develop and maintain control philosophies, FDS, interlock narratives, and alarm rationalization documentation.
• Design DCS, PLC, and SCADA architectures with redundancy and high availability.
• Oversee FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and post-startup optimization.
• Support MOC processes and maintain OT cybersecurity hygiene for control systems.
