Job summary

TAI is seeking a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer to lead control system design efforts for pharma and life sciences projects in Owings Mills, MD. You will drive technical strategy, review electrical drawings, and ensure regulatory alignment from concept through commissioning.

The role requires 8+ years in control systems, strong PLC/HMI experience, and a background in GMP environments, with active collaboration across teams and customers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
8+ years of control system design experience.
3+ years in Pharma/Biotech/Life Science projects.
Experience with PLCs, HMI, and electrical construction drawings.

Responsibilities

Engage with key stakeholders to reflect needs in design specifications.
Prepare and review Project Technical Requirements for all systems.
Define design deliverables and review levels for CD/BD/DD stages.
Assist in procurement strategy for technical work packages.
Produce Design Assurance Reports to ensure technical alignment.
Contribute to SHE and GMP compliance in design deliverables.
