Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Automation Controls Specialist to support the Factory at Rocket Park. The role focuses on reliability and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, aiding the IIoT integration and process optimization across shifts.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in CNC/PLC/robotics, familiarity with Siemens/SI and FANUC safety systems, and a degree in a related field. This is full-time on-site with potential overtime and travel.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing, modifying, or troubleshooting industrial CNC control systems (e.g., Siemens 840D-SL, FANUC 30i/31i/32i).
• 3+ years of experience with controls and automation software development environments (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, FANUC PMC, etc.).
• 3+ years of experience with common automation control systems (e.g., PLCs, Robots, CNC).
• Familiarity with industrial safety systems (e.g., Siemens SI, FANUC DCS).
• Understanding of Functional Safety.
• A demonstrated ability to interpret and review electrical and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and modify electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and safety control systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and modify program logic.
• Connect and integrate new and existing equipment into Blue networks to support IIoT initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Factory Automation team to optimize existing automated equipment.
