Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking a Technical Underwriter to join the North America Technical Underwriting team. The role reports to the Auto Technical Director and will design and drive multidimensional underwriting strategies for the Auto book of business.

You will collaborate with Global Colleagues and Business Unit Heads to monitor profitability, refine pricing approaches, and implement governance practices across specialty lines to support the company’s financial plans and growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years underwriting experience, or High School Diploma with 10+ years underwriting experience.
CPCU certification preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Auto lines of business.

Responsibilities

Monitor underwriting strategy against performance metrics and adjust as needed.
Lead and implement underwriting guidelines, policies, and governance.
Drive strategic initiatives and multi-project leadership within the underwriting team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure profitable written business.
Provide expert underwriting training content and respond to complex queries.
