The Senior Author Marketing Associate develops and executes marketing programs that attract high-quality manuscript submissions and increase engagement with researchers and authors across a portfolio of five peer-reviewed Science journals. Through email campaigns, webinars, conferences, calls for papers, and other outreach activities, this role helps raise journal visibility, strengthen author relationships, and encourage submission of impactful research.
Reporting within the Institutional Licensing team, the Senior Author Marketing Associate works closely with editorial, publishing, sales, and marketing colleagues to support journal growth. This position helps connect author acquisition, journal reputation, content usage, and subscription value by ensuring journals are well positioned within their research communities and continue to attract influential authors and high-quality research.

The anticipated initial rate of compensation for this position is between $80,000 – $85,000 per year. AAAS currently provides the following benefits for this position: paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, flexible spending account, dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance, each subject to the terms of the applicable program.
