Job description

Responsibilities

The Senior Auditor – Risk Specialist, Vice President in the Market Activities (MARK) Audit Team is expected to contribute significantly to the assessment of SG's Risk management program across the first and second lines of defense.

This role involves leadership in Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk coverage, as well as contributions to Structural Risk Coverage (Liquidity and Interest Rate on the Banking Book).

The Senior Auditor is expected to be a subject matter expert in these areas and part of a broader team of auditors.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading various audit missions independently, including complex and global audits, overseeing all aspects and owning the audit process.
  • Preparing high-quality audit reports and executive summaries that highlight key issues for management.
  • Participating in continuous monitoring programs and understanding changes in the internal and external environment affecting the business.
  • Contributing to the annual risk assessment and providing professional conclusions.
  • Coaching team members to develop their competencies and providing objective, constructive feedback.
  • Leading and supporting departmental transformation projects.
Profile required

Division Description: The Audit Division (IGAD) is Societe Generale's independent internal audit function, with over 1,200 professionals globally. The SGUS Audit Department (SGIAA), with about 70 professionals, is responsible for the Americas region, conducting independent and objective audits in line with professional standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Market, Counterparty, and Structural Risks, with a willingness to develop further.
  • Deep knowledge of banking products, financial services, trading activities, and related risks and controls.
  • Ability to conduct risk-based audits, identifying key risks and control points.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Understanding of US regulatory expectations, including rules like Reg YY, SR 10-6, SR 11-10, SR 12-2, and Market Risk Rule.

Plus:

  • Advanced education in relevant fields.
  • Relevant certifications such as CIA, FRM, CFA, CTP.
  • Languages: French.
