Job summary

Boston College is seeking a Senior Auditor to assess and strengthen controls across university operations, finances, and regulatory compliance. You will design risk-based audits, test controls, document findings, and present actionable recommendations to leadership.

Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders, leverage data analytics (Power BI) to identify trends, and ensure adherence to federal/state regulations and university policies, including grants management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1–4 years of professional internal/external audit experience for Auditor role; 4+ years for Senior Auditor.
• Professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CFE) preferred; higher education audit experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop customized, risk-based audit programs for university units and complex processes.
• Perform detailed audit testing, document findings, and prepare workpapers per auditing standards.
• Draft clear audit reports for executive leadership and department heads.
• Utilize data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and efficiencies.
• Evaluate compliance with federal/state regulations, higher education standards, and university policies, including grants.
