Job Details

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage audit engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards, within budget and deadline expectations.
• Perform detailed audit procedures over various income statement and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and review 990 tax returns for non-profit organizations.
• Review client accounting and operating procedures and systems of internal control.
• Identify accounting and auditing issues; suggest solutions to complex financial reporting problems.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met and to understand how changes in their business impact their financial statements.
• Provide guidance and share knowledge with team members, and participate in performing procedures, especially focusing on complex, judgmental, and specialized issues.
• Collaborate with team members to set goals and responsibilities, provide support for them to continually learn and improve, and drive them towards the overall success of the team and firm.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the audit plan and oversee the day-to-day operations of the audit.
• Continually build and nurture an external network and leverage it effectively to find opportunities for new client engagements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on audits.
• Demonstrated expertise in non-profit audits and 990 tax.
• Proven ability to lead and manage audit engagements.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GAAS regulations and procedures.
• Proficient in audit review with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment.
• Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit preparation software.
• Willingness and ability to travel to client locations as needed.
