ck in Alameda, CA is seeking a Senior Audit Manager for nonprofit engagements in a hybrid/in-person setting. You will own nonprofit audits from planning through report issuance and serve as the primary client contact, guiding planning, updates, findings, and closing.

The role requires nonprofit audit experience, CPA license, and the ability to manage staff and interact with directors. Hybrid schedule after onboarding in Alameda.

• Fully own your audit binder, including checklists, practice aids, and complete, standards-compliant documentation
• Primary client contact, leading planning, status updates, findings discussions, and closing (requires strong communication skills)
• Work with Directors in planning / risk assessment / brainstorming, technical questions, review and wrap-up activity
• Able to supervise and manage / support a staff accountant
• Research accounting and tax treatment or areas you are unclear about, or ask for assistance when needed

Senior Audit Manager - Nonprofit (Hybrid / In-person - Alameda, CA)

About Us

We are a CPA firm located in Alameda, CA focused on supporting the many wonderful nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond with audit, review and tax services. The firms directors formerly worked in the nonprofit field directly. We are a smaller firm, with a collaborative environement and reasonable working hours.

Responsibilities:

• Own and manage nonprofit financial statement audits from planning through fieldwork, review, and report issuance
• Fully own your audit binder, including checklists, practice aids, and complete, standards-compliant documentation
• Primary client contact, leading planning, status updates, findings discussions, and closing (requires strong communication skills)
• Work with Directors in planning / risk assessment / brainstorming, technical questions, review and wrap-up activity
• Able to supervise and manage / support a staff accountant
• Research accounting and tax treatment or areas you are unclear about, or ask for assistance when needed

Qualifications:

• CPA license required; Attest authority preferred
• Proven ability to run a full audit engagement team independently (2+ years)
• Nonprofit audit experience and nonprofit accounting knowledge required
• Experience with CCH Axcess Engagement preferred
• Professional and personable; able to build and manage client relationships independently
• Eligible to work within the US for any employer (we are currently unable to sponsor)
• Offers are contingent on a satisfactory background check
• Able to commute to our office in Alameda at least 3 days per week
• Available Monday to Friday - generally 8:30AM Pacific time to 5:00PM Pacific Time

Compensation:

• DOE – Depends on Experience (Range starting at $120,000 base)
