Job summary

Cornerstone Search Partners, Inc. is partnering with a highly respected regional public accounting firm in Illinois to hire an Audit Senior. You will own engagements from planning through completion, work directly with clients across various industries, and mentor junior staff.

This hybrid role offers strong client exposure, clear growth, and a path to leadership, with up to $110,000 base plus bonus, and a schedule of 2–3 days on site. Travel to client sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA eligible with 150 credit hours.
• 3–4 years of public accounting audit experience.
• Current or recent experience as an Audit Senior.
• Experience leading engagements and working directly with clients.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Hybrid schedule, 2–3 days per week.
• Daily access to a vehicle and travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Manage client relationships, requests, and engagement timelines.
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff auditors.
• Review workpapers and ensure compliance with professional standards.
• Evaluate client operations, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to managers and partners.
• Build trusted, long-term client relationships.
