Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Senior to join our Higher Education industry practice in Washington. You will lead and execute university audit engagements from planning through reporting, applying professional skepticism and ensuring quality, and you will mentor staff.

Required is a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, eligibility to sit for the CPA exam, and at least 2 years of relevant experience. CLA offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Eligible to sit for CPA exam preferred.
• 2 years of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Executing and managing the day-to-day activities of audit engagements with our university clients from start to finish, including managing the budget, planning, fieldwork, directing staff and completing financial statements, including related disclosures
• Reviewing client accounting and operating procedures
• Developing and assessing the design and implementation of internal controls
• Preparing all necessary financial statement and related disclosures and reportable condition correspondence letters
• Utilizing proactive and effective communication with staff, management, and clients to communicate technical matters to both clients and management.
