Job summary

Whitley Penn, a leading audit, tax, and advisory firm, seeks an Audit Senior Associate to join our team in Dallas/Plano. Public accounting external audit experience and CPA certification or eligibility with certification in progress are required.

Office-based with standard hours, overtime as needed. Ideal candidate will lead engagements, build client relationships, and mentor junior staff while maintaining GAAS proficiency and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of public accounting external audit experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree preferred.
• CPA certification or CPA eligibility with certification in progress.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GAAS.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be dedicated with a collaborative, proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, and meeting deadlines.
• Build client relationships by understanding operations and processes and advising on improvements.
• Manage deadlines, budgets, and communication of engagement status to Managers.
• Supervise and develop associates and interns, reviewing staff work papers and performance.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of GAAS and apply to engagements.
• Assist with business proposals, networking, and recruiting opportunities.
