Job summary

Whitley Penn, a leading public accounting firm, seeks an Audit Senior Associate to join our Houston team. The role requires 2+ years of external audit experience and CPA certification or eligibility, with a focus on GAAP/GAAS and client service excellence.

Responsibilities include leading engagements from start to finish, supervising staff, and maintaining project budgets. This is an in-office role with opportunities for professional growth within a high-growth firm.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of public accounting external audit experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree preferred.
• CPA certification or CPA eligibility with certification in progress.
• Strong GAAP/GAAS knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; team player.
• Proactive, with initiative and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning to completion.
• Develop client relationships and understand client operations.
• Monitor budgets and communicate engagement status to managers.
• Supervise and develop staff, review work papers.
• Maintain understanding of GAAS and apply to engagements.
• Assist with proposals, networking, and recruiting.
