Job summary

CLA is hiring an Audit & Assurance Senior to join our in-office team in the St. Louis or Kansas City offices. The role focuses on leading audit engagements for construction clients, managing budgeting, planning, and staff, and preparing financial statements with disclosures.

Required is a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with 2 years of public accounting audit experience. CPA eligibility is preferred, and occasional client travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
• 2 years of public accounting audit experience required, with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage day-to-day activities of audit engagements for construction clients, including planning, budgeting, fieldwork, staff direction and financial statement preparation.
• Review client accounting and operating procedures to assess accuracy and controls.
• Develop and assess design and implementation of internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements and related disclosures and reportable condition letters.
• Communicate technical matters clearly with staff, management, and clients.
