Job summary

Armanino LLP in St. Louis is seeking an Associate II to contribute to all phases of audits, from planning to completion.

You will perform tests under supervision and help ensure client financial statements are free from material misstatement, while guiding junior staff. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master’s in Accounting or related field and CPA exam eligibility, plus at least 1 year of public accounting experience and solid GAAP/GAAS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Understanding of US GAAP and GAAS.
• Minimum 1 year of public accounting experience.
• Ability to research and analyze technical issues independently.
• Ability to identify internal control deficiencies and document management letter comments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Perform audits, reviews, compilations, and various engagements.
• Analyze financial statement data and draw logical conclusions.
• Exercise professional skepticism in the assessment of audit evidence.
• Research and analyze pertinent clients, industry, and technical matters.
• Work with a team of up to 5 fellow staff members and mentor newer staff.
• Identify, assess, and document controls and weaknesses in client accounting systems.
• Evaluate assigned areas of financial statements and identify improvement points.
• Prepare clear and accurate workpapers.
• Update managers and seniors on job status and assurance issues.
• Develop understanding of client businesses related to assigned assurance areas.
• Understand and apply AICPA rules, FASB pronouncements, and applicable state regulations.
• Comply with the Firm’s quality control policy.
• Communicate professionally with staff and client personnel.
• Pursue CPA certification.
• Seek feedback for self-improvement and professional growth.
