Job summary

Dauby O'Connor & Zaleski, LLC (DOZ) is a specialist audit, tax and consulting firm focused on affordable housing. This Austin-based role allows one day remote work per week.

You will lead financial statement preparation for diverse nationwide clients and collaborate with multiple engagement teams. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in accounting, CPA progress, and at least two years of audit experience, with strong Excel skills and a client-service mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or advanced degree in accounting.
• CPA credentials or progress toward CPA.
• Minimum 2 years of prior Audit experience.
• Experience with HUD, LIHTC, Affordable Housing; Excel preferred.
• Strong ownership for delivering high-quality service.
• Excellent team-building and workflow management skills.
• Calm demeanor under stress; team-oriented environment.
• Hours during peak season (60-70 hrs/week).

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements for real estate owners, operators, investors, and managers nationwide.
• Collaborate with engagement teams to complete compliance testing and prepare for busy season; travel to clients.
• Develop client relationships with timely, high-quality service.
• Mentor staff and interns; assist in staff development.
• Delegate and monitor team work.
• Collaborate with seniors/managers on workflow and personnel development.
• Research complex issues and communicate findings to clients and internal teams.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.
