AVAILABILITY Professional Staffing is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant in California's Central Valley to join an established CPA firm. You will manage audits from planning to completion, perform financial statement work, and interact directly with clients and leadership to grow the firm’s audit practice.

This role emphasizes ownership, autonomy, and visibility within a collaborative, close-knit firm setting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on audit experience required; not entry-level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• CPA license or progress toward licensure is a plus.
• Experience with audit planning, fieldwork, workpapers, and engagement completion.
• Strong accounting and financial statement knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage audit engagements from planning and fieldwork through completion.
• Perform financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance engagements.
• Prepare workpapers, financial statements, supporting schedules, and reports.
• Analyze financial records, account balances, and internal controls.
• Identify audit issues and communicate findings and recommendations.
• Work directly with clients throughout engagements.
• Take increasing ownership of coordination and oversight of audit work.
• Assist with tax and other accounting projects as needed.
