Job summary

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a qualified Audiologist/Speech Pathologist 3 for Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA. The role involves administering evaluations, developing treatment plans, and coordinating with physicians and nurses to support patients’ communication and hearing needs.

Responsibilities include counseling patients, fitting devices, and teaching exercises to improve speech and swallowing.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology or audiology and current Georgia licensure and/or certification to practice in the area of assignment and two (2) years of experience at the lower level Aud/Speech Pathologist 2 (HCP011) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Administers hearing and speech-language evaluations with specialized instruments and tests.
• Supports communication with non-speaking patients using sign language or assistive technology.
• Teaches patients exercises to improve tongue, jaw, facial muscles, and breathing mechanisms.
• Develops treatment plans for speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
• Maintains accurate patient records and monitors progress throughout care.
