Role Overview

We are seeking a Design Engineer with extensive AV design experience in the large enterprise segment. This pre-sales role involves listening to customer requirements and architecting solutions focused on user experience, engaging with senior IT and facilities clients.

Responsibilities

1. Support the sales team with detailed AV engineering solutions.
2. Design customer-specific AV systems and document designs.
3. Collaborate with clients, architects, and designers throughout projects.
4. Develop Bills of Materials and Statements of Work.
5. Create system design sketches and operational narratives.
6. Estimate project costs accurately.
7. Respond technically to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
8. Coordinate with engineering team members and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
9. Manage multiple design projects efficiently.
10. Adhere to company standards and interpret technical specifications.
11. Research and develop new AV integrations.
12. Stay updated on AV advancements and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

1. Over 5 years of experience in AV system design or commissioning for enterprise clients.
2. Technical expertise in AV equipment, including cameras, switchers, DSPs, and control platforms (Crestron, Extron, QSC).
3. Experience with Cisco macros, network protocols (AVB, Dante), and supporting video conferencing endpoints.
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.
5. Experience with DVLED video walls and digital signage.
6. Ability to work independently and lead installations.
7. Technical knowledge of AV hardware and software evaluation.

Education & Experience

1. At least 5 years in a pre-sales engineering role.
2. Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
3. AV project management and technical certifications (CTS, Dante Level 1, etc.).
4. Experience with collaboration tools like Teams, Zoom, WebEx.

Additional Requirements

1. Certifications such as CTS-D, Dante Level 1 preferred.
2. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, domestic and international travel.
3. Valid passport and U.S. driver’s license.
4. Professional appearance and attitude; willingness to undergo background checks and training.
