Job summary

General Motors seeks a senior engineer to lead new audio architecture development and integration across GM vehicles globally. You will design and verify audio systems, guide suppliers, and mentor new engineers while ensuring cost-effective, scalable solutions.

The role requires heavy collaboration with SMEs and cross-functional teams to deliver advanced audio capabilities with a focus on performance and integration with vehicle platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related field.
• 5+ years experience as a DRE or direct engineering experience within infotainment.
• Experience with automotive electrical systems and functional sub-systems.
• Mentoring / training newer engineers.
• Experience with electrical test equipment (meter, scopes, etc.).
• Knowledge of GMLAN, A2B, Ethernet, LAN.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new audio architecture strategy with SMEs.
• Ensure architecture is cost-efficient and scalable for future features.
• Coordinate with suppliers during design reviews and development stages.
• Mentor and train new audio engineers entering the organization.
• Define CTS & SOR and support sourcing activities.
• Direct supplier resident engineers in release activities.
