Job summary

The State Courts System seeks a Senior Attorney I or Senior Attorney II to provide legal research, analysis, counsel, and representation for the Office of the State Courts Administrator, the Florida Supreme Court, and other state courts.

The position covers areas such as garnishment proceedings, rule petitions, public records requests, ADA matters, and contract review, reporting to the OSCA General Counsel. Membership in Good Standing with The Florida Bar is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of legal research techniques and sources.
• Ability to analyze legal issues and apply law to facts.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal research and analysis for OSCA, Florida Supreme Court, and related offices.
• Offer counsel and guidance on employee and ethics matters to courts and programs.
• Monitor and analyze civil and branch-related legislation.
• Coordinate processing of public records requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned by General Counsel or State Courts Administrator.
