Qualifications

• JD and California Bar admission required.
• Minimum seven years of legal experience; or internal candidates with six years at DRC.
• Excellent advocacy, research, writing, and oral skills.
• Ability to lead multiple complex advocacy projects in collaboration with others.
• Commitment to working with people with disabilities and low-income clients; equity focus.
• Experience in disability rights law or related areas is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and participate in litigation including class actions and appeals.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and proceedings.
• Supervise and mentor attorneys, advocates, fellows, and interns.
• Prepare training materials, publications, and presentations on legal work.
• Provide training to staff and collaborate with agencies to address issues.
• Coordinate with other organizations to address client needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
