Job description

Senior Attorney, eDiscovery and Litigation Case Management

New York, New York

Salary: $170,000-$220,000 (Indicative, dependent on experience)

AmLaw 100 Firm, Permanent

An established AmLaw 100 firm is strengthening its nationally recognised eDiscovery and litigation case management practice and is looking to add a senior attorney to its New York office.

The team runs document review and discovery for large commercial litigation, regulatory and government investigation matters, acting for major corporate and financial services clients across the US.

New York offers high-quality work, direct client exposure and real responsibility, backed by the resources of a national firm.

The opportunity

The caseload spans complex commercial disputes, government investigations and regulatory matters, with the lawyer owning review from scoping through to production. The team would also consider litigators and discovery specialists from adjacent backgrounds, such as insurance, consumer finance, healthcare or regulatory litigation, who want a more stable career path. This is a non-partner-track, long-term career role for senior lawyers.

What you'll be doing
  • Scoping, staffing and managing large-scale document reviews for litigation and investigations, including second requests and subpoena responses
  • Building review workflows, coding protocols and quality control processes in Relativity or a similar platform
  • Negotiating ESI protocols and Rule 26(f) discovery plans, and advising on FRCP 26 and 34 obligations and Federal Rule of Evidence 502(d) orders
  • Using TAR, continuous active learning and other AI-assisted review tools to manage cost and timing
  • Leading teams of staff and contract attorneys, and owning budget, quality and deadlines
  • Acting as the main point of contact for litigation partners, case teams and clients on discovery strategy
What we're looking for
  • JD from a US law school and active US Bar admission (ideally New York, or eligibility to waive in)
  • 5+ years of litigation or eDiscovery experience at a law firm, ideally including managing review teams
  • Hands-on experience with Relativity or a similar platform, TAR and ESI protocols, with strong organisation, budgeting and client communication
  • Backgrounds in commercial litigation, investigations, insurance, consumer finance or healthcare litigation are all of interest; senior lawyers welcome

Specialist experience is advantageous but not essential.

What's on offer
  • Salary: $170,000-$220,000 (Indicative, dependent on experience)
  • A long-term, career-track role with sensible hours
  • Real investment in AI-assisted review tools and training
  • Direct partner and client contact, with ownership of your matters
  • Strong compensation and benefits at a national AmLaw 100 firm
