The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) is seeking a Senior Attorney to represent the department in civil and administrative litigation, including appearances before BAR and DOAH. The role involves preparing pleadings, briefs, and attending hearings to advocate on behalf of the department.

Responsibilities include trial and appellate work, as well as managing administrative disputes with strong writing and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in civil, appellate, and administrative litigation.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, and federal laws, rules and regulations.
• Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate resolution options and implement solutions.
• Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine compliance with laws and standards.

Responsabilités

• Represent the Department in trial and appellate work in civil and administrative cases before BAR and DOAH.
• Prepare pleadings, including administrative complaints, briefs, and hearings.
• Attend hearings and present oral arguments incidental to these cases.
