Job summary

Distinct | North America is seeking a partner-level insurance defense attorney in Houston to manage a docket of general liability cases. You’ll be treated as a senior attorney with ownership of cases and lead on substantive litigation including trials.

The role requires 7+ years in general liability or insurance defense, a track record of leading cases through depositions, motions, mediation, and trial, and an active Texas bar license. No client list is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of general liability or insurance defense litigation.
• Track record of leading cases through depositions, dispositive motions, mediation and trial.
• Comfort being the senior lawyer on the file.
• Active Texas bar licence with substantial experience in Texas state courts.

Responsibilities

Compensation: $1750,000 - $225,000

General Liability Defense.

In a partner level move, the first question is usually how much business you’ll bring. At this firm, it isn’t a question. They're looking for a Partner level attorney to handle a docket of general liability defense cases.

It's the type of firm where you'll actually be treated as a senior attorney. Partners won't be checking your work. You'll be owning a docket of cases, and will be taking the lead on substantive litigation including trials.

What I’m recruiting for

• A partner level general liability and insurance defense attorney.
• The firm is a litigation firm of around 20 attorneys, based in the Greater Uptown / Galleria area, so no need to battle downtown Houston traffic.
• They want a senior litigator who can lead cases, and they aren’t buying a client list.

What you bring

• 7+ years of general liability or insurance defense litigation
• A track record of leading cases through depositions, dispositive motions, mediation and trial.
• Comfort being the senior lawyer on the file.
• Active Texas bar licence, and substantial experience practicing in Texas sate courts.

What you don’t need to bring

• A book of business.
