This is a Remote Role (EST Hours).
We are seeking an experienced Jira and Confluence Administrator and customer advocate to help guide our team in their journey towards becoming a world-class engineering organization. This role is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our Atlassian ecosystem, supporting both on-premise and cloud environments..
Required Skills:
- 4+ years in IT support and customer engagement.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience administering Jira and Confluence in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of Atlassian Cloud and Data Center architectures.
- Proficiency in JQL, REST APIs, and automation tools.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and ticketing systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder communication abilities.
- Experience with Linux, Bash, and Unix command line.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and public cloud environments (AWS preferred).
- Comfortable working in agile and scrum-based teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Jira and Confluence, addressing user-reported issues, permissions, and configurations.
- Respond to ad-hoc queries via Slack and other platforms.
- Create and maintain internal and customer-facing technical documentation.
- Guide and support customer implementation projects and enhancement requests.
- Deliver ad-hoc learning content to promote customer self-sufficiency.
- Assist with Jira board configurations and JQL tuning.
- Troubleshoot access, permissions, and integration issues.
- Install, test, and implement new versions of Atlassian tools and apps.
- Ensure reliability, security, and performance of the Atlassian suite.
- Create and manage complex Jira workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Jira and Confluence systems.
- Automate Jira functionality using scripts.
- Lead system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
- Evaluate and deploy Atlassian Marketplace apps and integrations.
- Support cloud migration and hybrid deployment strategies.
- Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
- Ensure compliance with internal security and audit requirements.
- Participate in change management and incident response processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sprint goals and continuous improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator or equivalent.
- Experience with Jira Service Management.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Marketplace plugins and integrations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS).
- Experience with PostgreSQL and Jira add-on development.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
