Job summary

Oldham County Schools seeks a Head Coach to lead and supervise athletic programs across middle and high schools. You will oversee assistant coaches and organize practices, implement game plans, and teach fundamental skills and team strategy.

You will promote sports within the school and community, ensure participant eligibility, and serve as a positive role model for student athletes while adhering to district policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 64 college credits or KHSAA training per Bylaw 27.
• 21 years of age and clear criminal records check.
• First aid and CPR certification; additional KHSAA trainings as required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sports rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assistant coaches on one or more sports.
• Organize and supervise practices.
• Teach individual fundamental skills, team plan, team strategy and rules of the game.
• Promote sports in the school and community.
• Ensure eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
• Model proper conduct and provide guidance to student athletes.
• Assist in planning the athletic program with Principal/AD and season goals.
• Adhere to district policies and safety guidelines.
