Lunar Energy, Inc. in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Senior ATE Mechanical Engineer (Contractor) to lead mechanical design across the full product lifecycle of our home energy devices.

You will collaborate with a small cross-functional team to create high‑performance, manufacturable parts and assemblies, manage BOMs and vendor relations, and support prototypes through production. The role emphasizes hands-on prototyping, 3D CAD, GD&T, and MSA-style analysis, with travel up to 10–20% to contract

Competenze

• Extensive mechanical design experience for high-volume home energy products.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (Onshape/NX/SolidWorks) and GD&T
• Experience with PCBA fixture design and bed-of-nails testing
• Ability to perform tolerance analysis, load path, and FEA
• Strong prototyping skills: 3D printing, machining, sheet metal, laser cutting
• Experience with manufacturability reviews and DFx practices
• Vendor and BOM management, release processes, and supplier collaboration
• Willingness to travel domestic/international 10–20% as needed
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams

• Design high-performance, reliable mechanical parts for high-volume production
• Create and review drawings and part specifications
• Manage BOMs, costs, masses, and engineering releases
