Job summary

PBMares is seeking an experienced Senior - Assurance professional to lead and execute assurance engagements while delivering exceptional client service. You will support team development and ensure engagements are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

The role emphasizes GAAS/GAAP compliance, proactive client communication, and continued learning. The position offers a hybrid work schedule with competitive benefits, travel as needed, and opportunities to contribute to practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
• 1 year of experience with a CPA OR 2 years of relevant experience without CPA.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAS, GAAP, and applicable professional standards and regulations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day assurance engagements, including planning, fieldwork, documentation, and completion.
• Apply GAAS, GAAP, and firm methodology when performing and reviewing audit procedures.
• Review workpapers, financial statements, disclosures, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Evaluate risks, research accounting issues, and exercise professional judgment.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients and provide practical recommendations to improve processes.
