Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide excellent customer service to students and parents via phone, e-mail, walk-in, and other forms of engagement regarding all financial aid matters.
  • Conduct file review, perform professional judgement, complete verification, and update award packaging as required.
  • Monitor/maintain application statuses within the student information system.
  • Access federal and state systems (COD, NSLDS, GAP Access, FSA, etc.) to verify student aid eligibility.
  • Work closely with SSOM Student Affairs, Registration and Records, and the Office of the Bursar to ensure student aid eligibility is accurate and changes are recorded in a timely manner.
  • Support the Director with the administration of $5M in endowed, gift, and institutional aid funds to new and continuing students annually.
  • Support the Financial Aid Office by managing specific program area(s) such as R2T4, SAP, FWS, Scholarships, Consortium, Veterans, etc.
  • Provide personalized financial counseling programs to students and families on financial aid options, debt management, and loan repayment strategies.
  • Conduct presentations and workshops supporting the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, Parkinson School of Public Health, and other academic units.
  • Support the University through presentations to various public audiences including FAFSA workshops, financial wellness programs, orientations, and other admission events.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to provide a holistic approach to service.
  • Perform other duties as required to maintain efficient financial aid operations.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three – five years of related experience, or a combination of education and work experience. A solid knowledge of Federal and State Regulations is essential.

  • PeopleSoft experience highly preferred.
