Job summary

New York Life Insurance Co. is seeking a Senior Associate, Communications for NYLIM to drive internal and external communications.

You will build and execute strategies, manage media relations, and coordinate with partners to promote key announcements and campaigns. You will collaborate with executives, product teams, marketing, HR, and agencies to deliver compelling messaging across press, website, social, and intranet channels.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ media-relations experience, and at least 2–3 years in the asset management space.
• Strong media relations skills with experience engaging financial press.
• Superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Creative and strategic thinker with a growth mindset.
• Experience using AI-powered communication tools to optimize engagement.
• Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a collaborative approach.
• Comfort with AI and emerging digital tools for content development and automation.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Exemplary attention to detail and interest in investment trends.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering NYLIM’s objectives by building and executing internal and external communication strategies.
• Collaborate with partners and agencies to maintain a calendar of communications initiatives.
• Draft, review, and approve external and internal communications materials (press releases, web content, intranet content, Q&As).
• Implement plans to promote NYLIM’s objectives and drive employee engagement.
• Develop and manage relationships with investments media and prepare spokespeople for interviews.
• Coordinate with teams to maximize reach of PR campaigns across digital channels.
• Monitor investment and personal finance trends to inform storytelling.
• Oversee agency workflow and monthly reporting.
• Measure and adjust communications based on analytics and feedback.
• Ensure alignment with Corporate Communications standards and emerging technologies.
