Job summary

Barings in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Associate or Associate Director to support SEC reporting for three BDCs. You will coordinate the preparation of 10-Q/10-K, ensure US GAAP compliance, and collaborate with the CFO/CAO on board materials and investor communications.

The role requires 3–8 years in financial/reporting functions, a CPA preferred, and strong Excel/Workiva skills. Location is on-site at corporate HQ in Charlotte with close attention to deadlines.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of experience in SEC reporting, financial reporting, public accounting, fund accounting, or related functions.
• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Experience with Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and proxy statements.
• Experience in asset management, BDCs, private credit, or public company reporting preferred.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Workiva and SEC reporting software.
• Strong internal controls knowledge and SOX compliance; able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month- and quarter-end close review of third party reports.
• Handle SEC reporting requirements including 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and proxies with schedules.
• Ensure accurate US GAAP reporting and disclosure consistency.
• Support earnings releases and board presentations; coordinate with CFO & CAO.
• Liaise with internal/external auditors for SOX and audit requests.
• Assist in quarterly reviews and annual audits to meet deadlines.
• Maintain disclosure calendars, control documentation, and reporting checklists.
• Identify process improvements to automate reporting and strengthen controls.
