Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join the Membrane Technologies group, which supports preclinical therapeutic antibody discovery within the department of Therapeutic Proteins. You will apply molecular, cellular and biochemical approaches to express and purify a broad range of cell surface receptors (i.e. GPCRs, ion channels, transporters, and signaling receptors) and protein complexes. We hope you are excited by the opportunity to work with numerous functional groups to come up with innovative approaches to tackle some of the most challenging therapeutic discovery projects being pursued at Regeneron.

In this role, a typical day might include the following:

  1. Maintaining cell cultures (insect and HEK293 cells)

  2. Assisting with small and large-scale protein expression using bacteria, insect cells, and HEK293 cells

  3. Performing routine molecular biology techniques such as plasmid and bacmid purification and baculovirus production

  4. Performing protein biochemical analysis using the HPLC and FPLC

  5. Conducting protein purification (affinity, ion exchange, and size exclusion) and biochemical (FSEC, SDS-PAGE, western blot, FACS, in vitro functional assays) and biophysical (SEC-MALS, BLI) analysis

  6. Participating in journal clubs and data presentation

This job might be for you if:

  1. You have a passion for science and innovation with a strong dedication to continual improvement

  2. You enjoy working in a fast-paced and deadline driven team environment to discover lifesaving medicines for people with serious medical conditions

  3. You have the desire and ability to work on multiple projects in parallel

In order to be considered for the role, you must have at least a BS/MS in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience. Must have experience in molecular biology and cell culturing. Previous experience with heterologous protein expression and purification is highly desired. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
