BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Risk Advisory Services Analytics and Innovation Senior Associate in the Cincinnati area. You will provide hands-on technology support for Regulatory Compliance and Internal Audit projects and contribute to internal Innovation initiatives.

Responsibilities include developing digital solutions with data analytics, automation, and process improvement to drive efficiencies and insights for client engagements, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with local RAS

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MIS is required.
Two+ years in Data Analytics, Risk & Regulatory, and Innovation is expected.
Experience with GRC tools such as Workiva and Optro is preferred.
Strong analytics, reporting, and process-improvement skills are important.
Experience with SOX controls and internal controls design is desirable.

Responsibilities

Supports client engagements to identify process-improvement opportunities in Compliance and Internal Audit.
Designs digital solutions using Data Analytics and Automation technologies.
Assists in control design and testing for SOX compliance.
Uses analytics to enable operational and business audits.

The Risk Advisory Services (RAS) Analytics and Innovation Senior Associate is responsible for providing hands on technology support for Regulatory Compliance and Internal Audit project engagements as well as internal Innovation initiatives.
The Senior Associate handles client projects that require proficiency in Regulatory Compliance processes (SOX 404, Internal Audit etc.) and proficiency in the use of digital tools such as Data Analytics and Automation. This role works towards identifying process improvement opportunities with Compliance processes and developing digital solutions to support Operational Audits, Risk Assessments, Control Testing, and Continuous Monitoring to drive efficiencies and help clients gain data-driven insights into new and emerging risks.
The Senior Associate also assists in the tactical execution of various RAS Innovation initiatives. This role will work closely with the rest of the Innovation team members and local RAS teams to develop digital risk solutions based on Data Analytics, Automation, and other emerging technologies.

Job Duties

Supports a team that drives client discussions to identify process improvement opportunities with Compliance and Internal Audit processes

Designs and develops digital solutions based on Data Analytics and Automaton technology

Participates in the review and design of internal controls over financial reporting based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements

Uses Analytics to tech-enable operational and business audits

Leverages workflow automation technology to automate SOX control execution and testing procedures

Identifies key risks and uses Analytics to assess their impact and likeliness of occurrence

Prepares formal and informal presentations for client meetings

Acts as primary client contact for all questions and issues

Develops and maintains relationships with junior client personnel

Administers project plans for client engagements

Maintains solution development lifecycle plans

Adopts quickly to new digital tools

Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises the day-to-day workload of Risk Advisory Services Associates on assigned engagements and reviews work product

Acts as mentor to Risk Advisory Services Associates, as appropriate

Education

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management Information Systems, required

Experience

Two (2) or more years of combined Data Analytics, Risk & Regulatory, and Innovation related experience, required

Experience working in the accounting, financial consulting, business advisory, and/or professional services, preferred

Experience working with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools such as Workiva and Optro, preferred

Experience in one or more of the following areas, preferred:
- Data Analytics and Visualization
- RPA and Workflow Automation
- Database Development
- Application Development
- Artificial Intelligence
- Machine Learning

License/Certifications

Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), preferred

Software

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, required.

Experience using Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, required

Experience using Workflow Automation tools (Alteryx), required

Experience using RPA tools (Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath), preferred

Experience developing web applications in Microsoft Power Platform, PowerApps, preferred

Experience using Python, Power Pivot, SQL, Tableau, and other like analytic and visualization tools, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
California Range: $85,000 - $100,000
Colorado Range: $85,000 - $100,000
Illinois Range: $85,000 - $100,000 Maryland Range: $85,000 - $100,000
Minnesota Range: $85,000 - $100,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $85,000 - $100,000
Washington Range: $85,000 - $100,000
